B.E.M.

Probably the only time I'll make a Congrats card for someone receiving a British Empire Medal. Used the Kanban Jubilee set to make this.

Graduation Congrats

Took me quite a while to think of a fitting card for a biochemist. Also used the Sizzix Eclips for this card too. I created the evolution of man images in silhouette and then sent it to be cut! Finally worked out what setting is needed for my normal papers, need to suss out the settings for card next!

Happy Father's Day

Hope you had a good one :) Couldn't post the picture until after the special day, didn't want spoilers! Why not order a personalised card for your Dad next year?

Finally getting to grips with the new Sizzix Eclips cutting machine. I created the circle of DIY tools in silhouette and then traced the image using the ecut software that comes with the machine. This means I can cut this out in the future again and again, with no scissors!  Am all for making things easier :)

Craft fair in the snow.

Set off in the snow this morning! Think we deserved a prize for motivation! Darn chilly but we managed almost 7 hours regardless. It was 0.5 degrees C when we packed up the car! Had a good day but hopefully we'll get some better weather when we return to Heart of the Country at Swinfen on March 30th. Before then though is a charity fair at Shifnal Methodist Church on Saturday 23rd March (afternoon only.)  If you fancy popping in you'd be most welcome :)

....for a teeny tiny frame.
Preparing things for the craft fair on Sunday. (10th March)

Painting a swimmer

Trying to combo people's interests to make the card uber appropriate! This is a small unfinished watercolour using watercolour pencils, and mock brush & palette also using the pencils. Wording printed via computer. Added glitter and pearl bling.

Finished National Trust card

Hope the recipient recognises the scene!
Simple half fold using Kraft brown card. 18cmx18cm. Freebie magazine papers in leaf pattern layered on pearlescent brown paper.
Brown pearl bling. Aged brass brad. Twine offcut. Greeting printed via computer.

Sunnycroft

These are pen drawings of the kitchen in Sunnycroft. Sunnycroft is a National Trust property in Shropshire. The recipient is a volunteer who works in the kitchen.

Do you think there is a world record for making bicycle cards? Three more made this evening. One using some excellent bike brads, another using a metallic bike bookmark and the third with a GB biking theme!

More prep for the fair - Mother's Day cards!

How do we feel about re-using cigarette cards? Cigarette memorabilia is out of fashion but recycling ephemeral items seems on trend. So I've decided to use them, some are superbly illustrated works of art, I want to re-purpose them! What do you think?

Crafting for the next fair!

Next fair is this coming Saturday! Once again we are at Heart of the Country in Swinfen, near Lichfield. Been making some new badges this evening.

Same fold...

...different theme. I really wish oriental themed cards sold, but they don't! So, I was really pleased to get a request for one! And an excuse to use this new fold again but with slightly different proportions. Really like this willow pattern set of images and coordinated papers. Think its another kanban set from the qvc shop.

Card for my BIL's 40th

Back to the kanban Great British papers! This is a new fold where you use a back-to-front smaller card inside a larger card with the front flap cut in half. Needs something to hold it flat in the envelope tho hence the addition of a ribbon. Glossy accented the numerals after I took the photo.

My MIL is 80 today

Made this card for one of her friends to give her. UK themed kanban kit, was only £2, complete bargain! :)

Gorjuss owl girl.

Picked up this fab stamp from the Hobbycraft sale. Making cards for a friend who orders a years cards all in one go!

Stamped image and coloured with copic ciao markers.
Selected four complimentary papers and outlined with black pen.
Layered papers, raising the top two with foam strips. This leaves enough room for the charm to sit smoothly when hanging from the eyelet.
Added eyelet tab and number tab to second layer of papers.
Printed name on third tab, using the pc, directly onto patterned paper. Attached to top layer.
Paper punched two borders to use either side.
Voila! :)
